Community Transformation Centre (CTC) is a faith-based NGO registered in Kenya in March 2021. It was later incorporated as Global CTC, Inc. in the USA in November 2022, obtaining 501(c)3 status.
CTC Africa serves some of the hardest to reach communities in places prone to conflict, extreme hunger, climate change, and flooding. Our focus is on women, children, and the youth. We work in partnership with churches as basic structures for community sustainability of our programs. We know that real progress comes not just from reacting to disasters, but by equipping and empowering the people to transform their own lives. We achieve this by working with communities to build their resilience and ensure their transformation is sustainable.

The organization was founded in 2020 by a Kenyan Pastor, Dr. Richard Mutura after a tour of Kakuma Refugee camp in Northern arid lands of Kenya. The visit followed an invitation by one of his students at Pan Africa Christian University who was a refugee from South Sudan. He was curious to know how life was in the camps, and he drove for two days to Kakuma...
It was while at the camp, that he identified the need to help train refugee pastors. In his assessment, he realized that majority of them had less than 8th-grade level of education and theological education but were passionate to overcome their own trauma and preach hope to fellow refugees. The Holy Spirit put it in his heart that he can contribute to supporting the pastors to upgrade their knowledge and skills of the bible and church to correctly handle the word of God and engage their congregations in holistic ministry.
