What can refresh more than Water in a desert?

Nothing is more refreshing than water in a desert, however, in Kakuma refugee camp the Gospel is the greatest need that refreshes and transforms the lives of refugees. They come into the camp having lost everything; their property, and their family members. They are often wounded physically and emotionally. And while they may receive some food and medical relief that quenches their physical thirst, their spiritual hungers, hopelessness and loss of meaning to life persist.

Yet in the midst of their anguish and despair, God has provided them with over 100 Churches in the camps. Here, thousands of refugees, young and old from different nations and tribes gather every Sunday to hear God’s word and to receive ministry.

The members are yearning for more and better, yet their ministers themselves need ministry. The preachers need the tools to administer their congregations and give urgently needed help to the members who are spiritually starved and longing.

Thankfully there is now hope, the pastors and leaders are enrolling for the Discipleship Reframed training administered by the CTC DEEP pastors program. It is offered free, with support from partners. And there are great stories coming up, stories of revival among the ministers, and refreshing to the members, better than the waters of the desert.
