We use a pragmatic model called Discipleship and Economic Empowerment Program (DEEP) that prepares believers to fulfil the great commission in their homes, businesses, and workplaces. This model is summarized by:
Disciple. Empower. Transform
We Believe in Change
Who We Are
Community Transformation Centre (CTC) is a faith-based NGO registered in Kenya in March 2021. It was later incorporated as Global CTC, Inc. in the USA in November 2022, obtaining 501(c)3 status.
CTC Africa serves some of the hardest to reach communities in places prone to conflict, extreme hunger, climate change, and flooding. Our focus is on women, children, and the youth. We work in partnership with churches as basic structures for community sustainability of our programs. We know that real progress comes not just from reacting to disasters, but by equipping and empowering the people to transform their own lives. We achieve this by working with communities to build their resilience and ensure their transformation is sustainable.

Our Model: How We Do It
Integrated Discipleship Ecosystem Model
We disciple for formation, empower for capacity, and transform for lasting community impact.
1. We Disciple (Formation)
We journey with pastors, women, and children to experience new life in God by finding their place in His story. Through relational and practical discipleship, they are equipped to disciple others within their churches and communities—multiplying faithful followers of Christ.
2. We Empower (Capacity)
We equip leaders and faith communities with practical skills, discipleship tools, and economic opportunities to live out their faith with dignity and purpose. Our trainings are Christ-centred, interactive, practical, and experiential. This strengthens leadership capacity and enables believers to live out God’s story in everyday life and ministry.
3. We Transform (Impact & Sustainability)
We foster holistic transformation by integrating economic empowerment with spiritual formation—enabling believers to generate income, build assets, and strengthen their households, churches and communities. This approach nurtures dignity, resilience, and a renewed story of hope for a sustainable future.
Our History
How it all started
The organization was founded in 2020 by a Kenyan Pastor,
Dr. Richard Mutura after a tour of Kakuma Refugee camp in Northern arid lands of Kenya. The visit followed an invitation by one of his students at Pan Africa Christian University who was a refugee from South Sudan. He was curious to know how life was in the camps, and he drove for two days to Kakuma
